8 Events in the Past 2 Months

Life has been busy since my last post. So, in order to get caught up, I have created a list of the top 8 events that have happened in our lives over the past two months.

1. Lyric Opera's General Director, Bill Mason, retired this summer.  I was on the committee to host a backstage party for him in one of our rehearsal rooms.  It was hard saying goodbye to such a great boss, but we had fun celebrating his retirement and wish him lots of fun and relaxation.
Here I am plating some brownies with co-workers Nicole, and Sarah.

Here is Mr. Mason as he entered the room for the party. I think he was overwhelmed by all the love and support!

Here is Mr. Mason with me, Maureen, Lynn, and Kathy. We all worked hard to get the party set up.

2.  The Wacker Mole softball team had our end of season party at a local bowling alley.
I won 2 VIP awards!!
Here is Michael, me, Christian, Monique, Joana, Phil, Sara, Evan, Megan, Jackie, Carrie and Tim.
GO MOLES!

3.  Ruben and I have gotten in some quality time with friends.
Here he is playing for Sarah O and Max.
Sarah and I met for breakfast at Ruben's restaurant down town.
We love living in this city!

Here I am on Labor Day partying with my co-worker buddies Sara, Alejandra, Joana and Meghan

3. I got to see the musical "Murder for Two" at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre with my friend, Melissa. It was great to see her and a very fun play. :)

 4.  Ruben is spoiled by my baking. Here I made him individual carrot cakes with love.

5. Ruben's orchestra season started the last weekend of September. His first concert was with The New Philharmonic playing Beethoven 9.  I went with Sarah O, and we had a great time hearing the beautiful music.

And of course, we enjoyed the post concert cookies provided for the audience.

I'm so proud of my bass player!  Doesn't he look handsome in his tux!

6. Lyric Opera's season started October 1.  We opened with the production, "The Tales of Hoffman" with greats success.
Here is a shot of the fancy opera goer's on the red carpet. I love the guy in the top hat and tales. :)

Our foyer was filled with hor d'oeurves and beautiful decorations.

Here I am at my office door in a ball gown lent to me by my cousin Heather, and the matching opera gloves were borrowed from the wardrobe department. I felt so pretty!

Here I am with Meghan in a limo heading over the help set up for the Opera Ball.

Doesn't it look amazing!!

 7. Ruben continues to be busy with bass. This past week he performed for 3 different ensembles.
Here he is after a local concert with The Pride Orchestra, they played Beethoven 7 and did a great job!

It was neat to have so many friends of Ruben's come out to support him! Here he is with Jessica, Esther, Justin, Laura, Marsha, Chris, and Katy.

8. This past weekend I saw the world premiere of Joffrey Ballet's

I took a quick pic of the inside of the vintage Auditorium Theatre, and the pre-show scrim.

This is a promotional picture I found of the performance. The dancers were amazing!!

8. Ruben and I have lived in our apartment for a year now!  And we're enjoying our lives together with our dogs!
