John Legend & Sade in Concert!!

After an awesome weekend with The Moncrief Family, Ruben and I attended a concert featuring John Legend and Sade at the United Center.

It was awesome!!

John Legend opened the show, and it was a great opening act! Ruben wasn't very familar with him, and I only have one of his albums. He was really great live, with a fantastic band and back up singers.

After his act, the main event started, and out comes Sade!!!

She was stunning, sounded fantastic and I absolutly loved her show.

I also thought the projections and lighting of the show were incredible! So pretty!!

After the performance Sade went through and introduced the whole band. While growing up with her music, it never dawned on me how much of an ensemble they were. It's not all about her, these guys make her music what it is. I was so glad to see how much she loves and respects her musicians.

They did an awesome encore. The whole band had a quick change and everything!!

Sade was brave and sang on this tall tower!! It rose in the air as she performed!!

This is the only pic Ruben and I took of us, sitting in our seats reflecting on what we had just experienced. It was a fantastic night!!

The Moncrief's Visit Chicago

On Wednesday, August 3, my best friend from college and her family drove to Chicago to visit Ruben and I!! They stayed with us from the 3-7. I was super excited to have Leslie, Dakota, Mason and Mallory in Chicago!

I love Leslie!!

She and her family are so sweet! They were great guests, and we had a fabulous time!!

Together we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It's an awesome free zoo park in the city, and a great way to spend the day!

A Moncreif Family tradition; purchase a Mold-A-Rama where ever one is located. This one gave them a gorilla. :)

We saw so many animals, and had tons of fun!

The next morning we hung out around the house.

Later that day we went to The Field Museum! We were there for about 4 hours and saw all kinds of awesome exhibits!!

We saw Whales, Egypt, Ungerground Adventure (which had to do with bugs under the Earth) and Dinosaur's!

Mallory just saw a huge spider, and wasn't too sure about it. :)

Loved having my friends come and visit!!
