Bring on More Art & More Fun!

The month of March has been a full of friends, art and theater!
It started with a fundraiser that my friend, Maureen, invited me and a friend to. I invited my buddy Sarah O, and we got to see the final performance of "Spamalot". A truly hilarious production, and would recommend taking the whole family if you get the chance to see it!

Then, Ruben and I went to see "God of Carnage" at the Goodman Theatre. It was also a comedy, about the drama that can happen between 2 sets of parents & their kids. These parents meet to discuss a fight that happened between their sons, and quickly the civil discussion leads to chaos. Honestly, it added another tick to the "good reasons not to have kids" column in our own life. Haha!!

Then, I worked on a personal project that my intern, Ryan Prendergast directed. I helped out by stage managing the technical/dress rehearsal and performance. I was very proud of him and the actors. They did a great job!
This last week I made a trip out to Writers' Theatre to see their world premiere production of "Do the Hustle" written by Brett Neveu (who, also wrote "Odradek" the piece Ruben was in.)
I love visiting Writers'! I miss my friends who work there, and I always love seeing the work they produce. This was a good one, and I'm glad I got to experience it!

This weekend, Sarah invited me to the undergrad art exhibit at the School of the Art Institute Chicago. I absolutely love all the art that Sarah is exposing me too!!!!
Here are some of my favorite pieces made by young artist.
This one was fun! Tiny little sculptures that had a magnifying glass there so you could see the details.

LOVE the knitted wheel covers on the bike!!! I was Moved, too! :)

Beautiful!!!! All done with paint sample cards!

Chicago also had some beautiful weather this weekend! The dogs and I went to the neighborhood school park and ran around. So fun!!

Life is good! Ruben's play closed, but he is still very busy with other symphonic performances and prepping for auditions coming up next week.
Lyric Opera is in its last week of the season. Our last performance is on March 27th, then we are done! I'm looking forward to the off season!
