Happy New Year

Ringing in the New Year 2011!

Ruben had two performances New Years Eve. Which left me alone for most of the afternoon and evening. He made it home right at midnight, and I ran out to the street to give him a midnight kiss and help him bring in his bass.

While he was gone, I had a girl movie marathon, and made homemade pizza to be ready when he got home.

It was delicious! I made a yummy whole wheat crust with peperoni's, mushrooms, and onions.

I am excited about the start of a new year and for all the wonderful opportunities that lay ahead for Ruben and I.

Ruben is busy in rehearsals for a world premier play, "Odradek" by Brett Neveu. He is solo bass, playing the underscore of the action on stage with 3 other actors.

It's a fantastic opportunity for him to experience working for a professional theater and see what my world is about. Rehearsing a play is a very different process than rehearsing a symphony. The show opens January 13 and runs till March 5. A nice long run of weekend performances! It's fantastic!
Other than that, there are auditions on the horizon for Ruben and more opera for me.
Wishing everyone a happy and blessed NEW YEAR!
